Walter Leroy Chesterson, 87, of Orange, beloved husband of Julie Chesterson, and owner of Sugar Mountain Enterprises, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2016. He was born on November 27, 1928 in Crawfordsville, IN to the late Warner and Alice Chesterson.
One of Walter’s favorite activities was traveling in his RV. He also loved family trips to Aruba and Friday night family dinners with his 5 o’clock Manhattan. He had many talents, but most of all was a handyman who could fix anything. Walter also had a great work ethic and loved to read.
Besides his wife, Julie, Walter leaves behind his children, William L. (Debbie) Chesterson, David L. (Alexandra) Chesterson, Paul A. (Arlene) Chesterson, Jean A. (William) Griffin and Richard S. (Marie) Chesterson; his grandchildren, Gregory L. (Katherine), Jennifer A. and Jeffery H. (Abigail) Chesterson, Krysta E. Chesterson, Matthew R. and Patrick J. Griffin and Maxine L. Chesterson; and his brother-in-law, Franklin D. Barrett. Walter was predeceased by his sister, Rosemary Barrett.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Friends and family may call on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Orange Center Cemetery, Orange Center Rd., Orange, CT.
