Barbara Morrell, age 84, a former Milford resident and beloved wife of the late William Morrell, passed peacefully on January 5, 2017 in Richmond, VA. Born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island on April 29, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Loretta Sousa and John Hunt.
She met and married William Morrell, and moved to Middlebury, VT where she and her children spent some wonderful years with Bill living on and helping tend a 360-acre dairy farm with 180 milking cows. The family later moved to Woodbridge, CT and then settled back in Milford, CT for a good many years.
Barbara had a joyous, exuberant spirit and loved laughing with her friends and family. She reveled in the beauty of life, appreciating nature, any kind of music (even Rap!) and the theater. She loved animals, especially her many family dogs, and people in general. As the Bell of the Ball, she always made an entrance and found a complement for every person she met. Barbara will be remembered by her infectious laugh and her wonderful hugs that she called “HeeHees”.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Laura Follo and Christine (John) Walters and son, Edward (Vicki) Frint. Barbara also leaves behind her sister, Patricia Tiller and her niece, Erin (Brian) Snyder and nephews, Patrick (Lisa) Spillane and Timothy Spillane. In addition to her mother, father and husband, she was predeceased by her beloved son, Kenneth Frint, and son-in-law Thomas Follo.
Friends and family may call on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. A Prayer Service will commence at 11:00 a.m. at Cody-White. Interment will follow at Kings Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St., Milford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Barbara’s memory may be made to the Thomas Anthony Follo Endowed Scholarship Fund.
