Robert F. (Bob) Spak, age 72, of Milford, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2017 in New Haven. He was born on July 23, 1944 in Derby, CT.

Bob attended the Ansonia school system and upon graduating from Pine Manual Training School, he worked in his families’ hot dog stand, Andy’s Drive-In, in Ansonia. Bob also owned and operated a snow plowing, trucking, and backhoe business with his brother, Andy. In 1966, Bob joined the Woodbridge Police Department where he was assigned to the patrol division. He also worked in the detective division and was also assigned to the South Central Regional Crime Squad where he worked as an undercover narcotic officer. In 1976, Bob attained the rank of Sergeant where he was in charge of a squad of officers as well as the dispatch area and the record division.  He was a past President of the Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association of CT (NEOA) and also a member of the International Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association (INEOA), and a member of the New Haven County Detective Association. Upon his retirement from the Woodbridge Police Department, Bob was employed at Alinabal in Milford where he worked in the maintenance department until his retirement in 2008.

Bob was predeceased by his loving wife, Elizabeth (Betty) Spak. He is survived by a brother, Andy Spak and his wife Phyllis of Oxford and a sister, Patricia Talmadge and her husband Paul of Ansonia. Bob is also survived by several nieces and nephews and his loving companion, Jennifer Camillo of Milford.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 10:30 am at Christ the Redeemer Church, 325 Oronoque Rd., Milford, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at King’s Highway Cemetery, Milford, CT. Family and friends may call on Sunday, May 21, 2017 from 2 pm to 6 pm at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT.
