Carl P. Malinosky Jr., longtime resident of Milford, CT, the only child and son of the late Carl Malinosky and Anna Mitchko Malinosky, passed away on April 12, 2017 at the age of 82.  He was married to his wife, Patricia Swanson Malinosky, for 56 years before her passing in 2013.Carl was born July 5, 1934 in Jessup, PA and moved to Connecticut at the age of seven.

Carl was an avid skeet shooter and traveled to tournaments with his wife and son throughout the Northeast, the East Coast and the South.  He was a member of Seymour Fish and Game and Ansonia Fish and Game clubs.  Among his many distinguished skeet shooting accomplishments include: with his wife, becoming the first couple to break 100 straight targets (2 x 100) in the .410 gauge (1975) and being elected to the Connecticut Skeet Shooting Hall of Fame in 1988.  He also served as treasurer of the Connecticut Skeet Shooting Association for 12 years and as a National Skeet Shooting director representing Connecticut for 24 years.

Besides shooting, Carl had many interests which included being a member of the Pathfinders Motorcycle club for dirt bike riding, coaching boys basketball, hunting, fishing, golf and bowling. He served with the U.S. Army (1954-56) in the Panama Canal zone during the Korean War.  For most of his career, Carl worked as a machinist for Remington Arms in Bridgeport and then as a consultant when Remington relocated to Arkansas.  He also worked at Handy & Harmon and Dresser Industries. Carl was a social individual whose strong will and determination fostered his enjoyment of competitive activities.   

Carl is survived by his son Carl Malinosky III and his wife Sharon, and extended family members. The family would like to thank the staff at Benchmark Senior Living in Hamden, CT as well as Season’s Hospice for their care and support.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad Street Milford, CT 06460. Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the funeral home. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Kings Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry Street, Milford, CT 06460. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his name to the American Heart Association at donatenow.heart.org
