Carol Nett Carney, daughter of Joseph and Helen Shea Nett; wife of James G. Carney; mother of Kathleen (Thomas) Guerrera and Thomas Carney; grandmother of Rebecca, Justin, and Emilee Guerrera; formerly of Orange, CT, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2017.

Carol graduated from SCSU in 1958 with a B.S. in Early Childhood Education and a M.A. in Elementary Education. She taught in New Haven and also worked in the Summer Studies Program at The Quinnipiac School and supervised student teachers from SCSU as well. Carol attended CCSU for Mathematics, and studied Spanish at the University of Guadalajara, Mexico and the University of Valencia, Spain. Carol was a helping mother and substitute teacher at The Betsy Ross Nursery School and The Orange Congregational Church Nursery School. She was a substitute teacher in Milford and then worked as a paraprofessional at Orange Avenue and Orchard Hills School in Milford. Carol was a Girl Scout for over 40years in various roles. She was also involved with the Boy Scouts Quinnipiac Council.

All services will be private. The family is being compassionately cared for by the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Campership Fund at gsofct.org.
