Deborah Rider

Deborah A. Rider, 81, formerly of Milford, beloved wife of the late John Rider Sr., passed away on April 19, 2024. Born on August 14, 1942, in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Ruth Anderson.

Deborah was a graduate of Milford High School. She worked as a model for a short time before working for SNET for several years. Deborah and her late husband John Sr also owned and operated Rotary News in Stratford, CT. She was a manager for Leather Loft and also worked for Milford Bank before retiring.

Deborah enjoyed spending time with her loving family and hosting family picnics and family gatherings. Her favorite past-time was watching the Boston Red Sox, especially when they played against her late husband and son’s New York Yankees. Her absolute favorite hobby was collecting pocketbooks, which she had several closets dedicated to them. Her second favorite hobby was going to the casino with her family. She loved listening to Elvis and John Denver.

Deborah is survived by her loving children, Kirsten (Mark) Butler and John (Donna) Rider Jr.; grandchildren, Chyna and Victoria Lipnickas; siblings, Paul (Marilyn) Anderson, Christine (John) Hogan, and Charles “Chuck” Anderson; as well as extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her sister, Carol Anderson.
