Harold “Butch” Thurston McDonald, 73, of Milford, CT, beloved husband of Janice Zandri McDonald, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2017. He was the cherished father of Jill McDonald Aronin (Matthew) and Amy McDonald Storz (Michael). He is also survived by his loving grandchildren: Andrew, Colin, Gavin and Ava. Additional survivors include his mother, Betty McDonald, his brother David and his two cats, Blackie and Sophie. Born on January 8, 1944 in New York City, he was the son of the late Harold McDonald. Butch enjoyed an active life which included automotives, running, golf, tennis and skiing. While he loved to watch Notre Dame Football and UCONN basketball, his favorite place to be was on the sidelines of his grandchildren’s’ sporting events. A longtime resident of Milford, Butch was the past president of the Milford Rotary Club and the Milford Jaycees. He also owned a service station in Milford for many years. Vacations to the islands and Cape Cod were a favorite but Butch always cherished his time in Vermont, especially in his youth with his Uncle Ralph.  The family would like to thank the staff at Smilow Hematology Clinic who treated Butch with love and compassion.
