Private Interment

Harry Leόn, 64 years old of Stratford, CT, beloved son of the late Samuel and Santa Leόn passed away peacefully surrounded by his family and close friends on February 17, 2018 at Yale New Haven Hospital.

Born in New York City, he was a longtime resident of Monroe, CT, before residing in Stratford, CT over the last several years. Harry graduated from Central H.S. and was an outstanding employee of King Industries in Norwalk, CT for over 40 years.

Harry loved sports and was a devoted New York sports fan, particularly the Jets, Yankees, Knicks and Rangers. He enjoyed watching his favorite sports teams with his children but more importantly he loved taking them to games at every opportunity.  While he enjoyed watching sports, he also had a passion for playing them. He was a frequent golfer but his first love was softball as he was a great softball player in the local area for over 45 years.

He was also an avid card player (poker) and enjoyed playing regularly with several close friends. Harry was witty, kind and was never without a good joke to tell. At gatherings with family and friends he would always love to share and show off a good bottle of wine or high-end scotch whiskey.

Above all, Harry will always be remembered as a great father, son, brother, husband and friend. He is survived by his daughter Michelle Leόn; sons Joey Leόn and Dante Leόn; previous wives Ada Hernandez and Amanda Leόn; his brothers and sisters, Samuel Leόn Jr. and his partner Ilka Rivera, Wilfredo Leόn, Gilberto Leόn and his wife Carmen, Lourdes and Elba Leόn; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will be missed by all who loved him dearly.

Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460, on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, between the hours of 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A private family burial will be held the following morning at Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation be made to The Bridgeport Caribe Youth Leaders Scholarship Program at www.bcyl.org.
