Inez Sarah Weeks Johnson, 93, has quietly passed on to be with the Lord on January 6, 2018 at CT Hospice in Branford. On September 28, 1924, in Brooklyn, NY, Inez Sarah was born to Catherine Inez and William Weeks. Inez attended and graduated from Franklin Lane High School in Brooklyn. While still in Brooklyn, Inez had a few jobs but the one that she always remembered and talked about was the one with the Charles Atlas Moving Co. Yes! The famous Charles Atlas of body building renown. Although Inez eventually moved away from NY and raised her family in CT, she always held a fondness in her heart for the old “push cart” days of Brooklyn.

In her early adult life, Inez was married to Arnold Peterson with whom she had her three children, Kenneth Arnold, John Lincoln, and Elizabeth Joy Peterson. They began life in Bridgeport and then were thankful to buy their own home in Milford, a town which Inez came to love. There they raised the family and put down roots, but later in her life, Inez met and married, for a second time, her truest love, Clifford W. Johnson. They went on to have over 25 years of happily married life together until he passed in 2007.

Inez was a very strong and resilient woman who loved her God, her family, and the profession that she chose, nursing. She practiced nursing initially at her Alma Mater, Bridgeport Hospital, but then along the way there were Doctors’ offices and other hospitals where she worked and was known as a very fine LPN. Inez ended her career at her dear Milford Hospital with over 15 years of service there.

Inez is survived by her sons, Kenneth, and his wife Erna of Southhold, LI, NY and by her dear son John of New Haven; she also leaves her daughter, Betsy (Elizabeth), of Milford. Then to remember her too, there are Inez’s 2 precious grandsons, Jonathan Peterson, of D.C. and Andrew Peterson, of Pittsburg, PA along with their special wives, Lauren and Sally. Inez was so very proud of them and was thankful when her 6 great grandchildren came along; Caedmon, Aldan, Theron, and Grayson of D.C. and Gabriella and Elijah of PA.

Inez was predeceased by her brother, William Weeks, of Los Angeles, Ca. She is survived, by another brother, her “kid” brother, Stephen McEvoy, his wife, Marguerite, and their clan of the WestChester, PA area. Inez was like a 2nd mom to Steve and she was his “Sis”. Inez also leaves a dear and wonderful cousin of Williamsport, PA, Marion Reeser and Mom’s faithful friends, Pieng Quach and her son, Calvin, of Arlington, TX. Inez and Marion shared a beloved Scottish grandmother, Sarah Weeks, and Pieng was Mom’s “adopted” 2nd daughter.

Inez’s family, her friends (especially her dear Bible study friends), her nursing career and her church, (eventually Trinity Lutheran of Milford), all made up her world.  She was very loved and will be sorely missed by us all.

Family and friends may call on Friday, January 12, 2017 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.
