Genevieve “Jennie” Josephine Migliaro Magel, 86, of Milford, beloved wife of 53 years to the late Robert Magel, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 23, 2018. Born on June 24, 1931 in New Haven, she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Rose Migliaro.
Jennie was a devoted and wonderful matriarch, a confidant and an excellent friend. Her grandchildren were the pride of her life. She was the “greatest mom ever”, doing everything she could for her children, including being a past president of the PTA. Jennie was also very active with the Trinity Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday School for many years and was a member of the Knitting Club. She loved to dance, crochet, cook, bake, play bingo, and entertain company. She was an avid Yankees baseball and UCONN basketball fan. She will be missed by everyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting her.
Jennie leaves behind her beloved children, Robin Magel, Dale Zaczkowski, Kim Burrows, Lynn (Frank) Carangelo; grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Melissa, Robert (Kendra), Jeffrey (Sarah), Mario, Gillian, Hope and Lia; great-grandchildren, Justin, Jalynn, Michael, Genevieve and Elsie; siblings, Grace Mitchel, Katherine Colaninno, and Anthony Migliaro; and brother-in-law, Alan (Kathleen) Magel; special cousin, Gail Gunnoud; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter Dawn Doty; grandchildren, Nathan and Jessica; siblings, Christie, Mary, Madeline, Rosie, Antoinette, and Andrew.
A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, January 26, 2017, at 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, 21 Robert Treat Pkwy, Milford, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at King’s Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry Street, Milford, CT. Friends and family may call on Thursday, January 25, 2017, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St. Milford, CT.
