Joan P. Bernard, 84, of Milford, beloved wife of the late Roger R. Bernard, Sr., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on December 2, 2017. Joan was born on September 1, 1933, in Milford, CT, to the late Edward and Doris Frank.

Joan leaves behind her children, LuAnn (Bill) Clarkson, Roger R. Bernard, Jr., Mark C. (Lynn) Bernard and Tammy (Jim) Chaloux; grandchildren, Heather (Wayne) Kozak, Jason Ruff, Roger R. Bernard III, Jenna Bernard, Tyler Bernard, James (Chelly) Reilly, Kyle Reilly and Thomas Dingee; great-grandchildren, James and Jaxon Kozak, Sienna and Violet Ruff, Roger R. Bernard IV, Camren and Kira Reilly; siblings, Rose Shaw and Edward Frank, Jr.; and several nieces, nephew and cousins. Joan was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed by all her family, friends and everyone whose lives she touched.

A Memorial Service will take place on Thursday, December 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. at First United Church of Christ Congregational, 34 West Main St., Milford, CT. Burial will be private.
