Pasquale Samuel Carra, Jr., “Pat”, age 71, of Milford, beloved son of Eleanor and the late Pasquale Carra, Sr., passed away suddenly at home on July 27, 2017. Pat was born on August 3, 1945 in Bridgeport. Pat enlisted in the United States Air Force when he was 17 years old to train as a mechanic and fight for his country in the Vietnam War. During his career as a jet fighter pilot, Pat was stationed in Africa and Germany and flew several missions during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He was known lovingly to his family as “Butch”, a nickname given him when he was a young boy. He was a machinist mechanic and enjoyed working on automobiles and engines of all kinds. Pat was a NASCAR follower and enjoyed watching western movies. He was always donating to several different animal charities for the betterment of dogs in the area. Some of Pat’s favorite memories were Christmas Eve dinners and times spent sitting in the garage with his father. Pat was a wonderful son, brother, uncle and friend. He always went above and beyond to help his family and friends. He is survived by his loving mother, Eleanor; his beloved sister, Rose and her husband Frank DiBlase; and a cherished niece and Goddaughter, Janelle and her husband, Dana Murray, Jr., all of Milford. Pat was predeceased by his father, Pasquale Carra, Sr. Pat also leaves behind his adored golden retriever, Ginger, who never left his side.
