Perina Anna Tranquillo, 88, of West Haven, loving wife of 48 years to the late Peter Tranquillo, Sr., passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on April 21, 2017. She was born on June 30, 1928 in Bridgeport, Connecticut to the late Luigi and Eduvilia Ciofi Pietrini.

Perina loved taking care of her family. She was happiest when her children and grandchildren were sitting at the table, talking, laughing and enjoying the wonderful meal she prepared. Perina was a selfless person, who always put others before herself. The simple things in life truly made her happy.

Perina is survived by her children, Patricia (Alan) Provost, Louis (Michelle) Tranquillo, and Peter (LuAnn) Tranquillo; grandchildren, Dr. Justin (Catalina) Provost, Christopher Provost, Nicole (Amad Covington), Erica, Ashley, Kara and Julia Tranquillo; and great grandchildren, Sofia and Isabella Provost and Kaden Covington. Perina was predeceased by brother, Ermano (Helen) Pietrini; and sisters, Catherine (Joseph) Verrilli, Angelina (Michael) Tuozzoli, and Nellie (Carmen) Faugno; and grandson Peter R. Tranquillo.

The family would like to thank Perina’s caregiver, Miranda, who was loving, compassionate and attentive to Perina’s needs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Victory, 600 Jones Hill Road, West Haven, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 1056 Daniels Farm Road, Trumbull, CT. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, April 25, 2017 from 4 pm to 8 pm at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT.
