Phyllis Josephine Copertino, age 86, of Milford, beloved wife of Paul Copertino, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 9, 2017. Born on March 19, 1931, in Danbury, she was the daughter of the late Cornelius and Lucy Leahey.

Phyllis grew up in Bridgeport and graduated from Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing in 1952. She dedicated her life to caring for others at Bridgeport Hospital and later at various local manufacturing companies. Her true vocation was to her family, and she loved spending time at the beach, Sunday spaghetti dinners, and long car rides.

Phyllis is survived by her beloved husband of 63 years, Paul; daughters Paula (Noah) and Phyllis (Kevin); grandchildren Sarah (Michael), Jamie (Donald), Callie, Rebecca, and Ashley (Julio); great-grandchildren Elle, Claire, and Finnian; her siblings Catherine, Lucille, Cornelius, and Maureen; and many dearly loved family members. Phyllis was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Richard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at St. Ann Church, 501 Naugatuck Ave., Milford, CT. Interment will follow at St. Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave., Milford, CT. Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 at the Cody-White Funeral Home, Milford, CT.
