Raymond “Rocky” L. Ewell, Jr., 87, of Milford, passed away peacefully on June 3, 2017. Rocky was born on August 8, 1929 in Weymouth, MA, to the late Raymond L. and Clarice Ewell, Sr.

Rocky graduated Weymouth School before entering the U.S. Army in 1948, where he served in the Korean Conflict. He was the Milford Seniors Club C President and B Vice President and a charter member of Legion Post 196. He was a member of the Sikorsky Union Teamsters Local 1150, the Sikorsky Quarter Century Club, the Milford Senior Council on Aging, and the Milford Senior Men’s Club. Rocky was a huge sports fan of UConn Women’s Basketball, the Boston Bruins, the New England Patriots, and a diehard Red Sox fan. He saw his dream come true of watching them win multiple World Series back in 2004, 2007, and 2013.

Rocky leaves behind his family friends, Bob and Cathy Ligi, and their children, Michael and Rebecca, of Cheshire, and the entire Ligi family. He was predeceased by his sister, Dorothy Ewell and his stepmother, Ruth Ewell.

Friends and family may call on Saturday, June 10, 2017 from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. A Memorial Service will be celebrated at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. followed by Military Honors. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Milford Senior Center c/o Janice M.
