Richard Allan Mead, 67, of Milford, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2017.  Born on August 11, 1950 in Concord, MA, he was the son of the late Elbert F. and Janet A. Mead.   

Richard was a longtime employee of both Precision Resource of Shelton, and Carpenter Steel in Bridgeport where he was a metallurgist. He had a passion for riding his motorcycle with his friends, traveling to various places of interest. He enjoyed building model airplanes and cars, as well as gardening; always in great detail.  He was also fond of fishing, boating, and skiing.

His family loved him dearly and he will be deeply missed.

Richard is survived by his son, David R. (Janet M.) Mead; grandson, Jacob Mead; niece and nephew, Sarah and Taylor Walls; and many extended family and friends. Richard was predeceased by his son, Christopher Mead; and sister, Caroline (Charlie) Walls.

A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Friday, October 27, 2017, at 10 a.m. at CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, 475 Howe Ave, Shelton, CT 06484. Friends and family may call from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at the funeral home.
