Robert G. Reeves, 91, of Milford, beloved husband of the late Joan Reeves, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2017. Bob was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 27, 1925 to the late William and Viola Reeves.

Bob proudly served in the US Army-Air Force as a Navigator/Bombardier on the B25 Aircraft from 1945 thru 1947. Over the concurring years, Bob received his BS Mechanical Engineering Degree from CCNY and MBA from University of New Haven. His love for aircraft continued thru the years with his employment as Director of Logistics Management/Support with AVCO Lycoming/Textron. He also worked many years in Portsmouth, England to support the RAF Harrier Jet program.

Married for 62 years, Bob and Joan enjoyed traveling, sailing and raising their three children. Bob’s passion for sailing and racing on his Catalina 25 continued thru the years, on LI Sound. He spent much of his time dedicated to educating potential future sailors with the US Power Squadron, attaining the rank of Sr. Navigator. Thru the years, Bob taught as a Safe Boating and Navigation Instructor, and served as Education Officer and US Power Squadron Commander for over 25 years. After retirement, Bob continued to work as a Safe Boating Instructor for CT DEP in Old Lyme, CT.

Bob is survived by his 3 Children: Linda Knablin (Kevin) of Milford, William Reeves (Michele) of Simpsonville SC, and Robert C. Reeves (Lynette) of Wayzata MN. Bob also leaves his sister, Nancy Komenda of Otego, NY. Bob thoroughly enjoyed his life with 8 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his sister, June Reeves.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford. Interment with Military Honors will follow at King’s Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St., Milford. Friends and family may call on Thursday, August 17, 2017 from  10:15 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.
