My deepest sympathy to the Winfield family. The love and care shown by his children are a paramount tribute to the father he was. He had a great sense of humor and together with Peg, I used to tell them they should take it on the road. I will echo his last words to me and say "see ya over the fence".

We are mourning in sorrow for your loss. Uncle Ron was a clever fellow and I cherish memories of visiting all of you as a youngster. My late husband Francis DeCostanzo met Uncle Ron about 3 years ago and liked his wit. Uncle Ron will be missed by all of us. May God comfort you in this adjustment and sudden loss.

We were fortunate enough to have had Mr. Winfield as our teacher in the seventh and eighth grades at First Avenue Elementary School in West Haven. He was a great teacher, gentleman, friend and took great interest in each student's needs individually. His relationship with us all went beyond grammar, high school and college. He even attended our grammar school reunion sharing many memories with us. Our sincerest condolences to all of Mr. Winfield's family. Rest In Peace Mr. Winfield you will be greatly missed.

My sincere condolences to Ron's family. When I began teaching 1n1969 Ron was the assistant principal at Gianotti Middle School. During that first year, Ron taught me more about education than I ever learned in school. He was a friend as well as an instructor.
Ron, a whole bunch of teacher, and myself spent many a Friday afternoon or evening in a little place called "Burtons" in West Haven. Ron made sure that I was accepted as a part of the educational and social group. I retired from the West Haven in 2006. Ron helped to make me the teacher and person that I am. I owe him a large debt. I was with great sorrow that I read of his passing. I am sure that your memories of Ron are a great part of his legacy to all of you. He will be missed.

Sorry to hear of your Dad's passing. He was truly a great guy. I can remember growing up on Lynmoor Street and our parents would hang out. Special memories. He will be missed but take comfort that he will be with Peg.

We will miss his friendship as a neighbor and church fellow. We always enjoyed conversations with him. What was going in the neighborhood and catching up with him as he took his daily walks.
