Willard (Billy) John McDonald, 46, of Stratford, passed away on July 19, 2017.  Born on July 14, 1971 in Bridgeport, CT, he was the son of Ellouise (Ellie) McDonald and the late Harold Robert McDonald.

Bill was a fenceman by trade and was also a cartoonist and a writer of short stories. He especially enjoyed spending time with children and the elderly. Bill was also passionate about nature and caring for the environment.

In addition to his mother, Bill is survived by his children, Michael McDonald, Ashley Nucifora-Palmiero and John and William Carroll; grandson, Eli Nucifora; siblings, Rick Hidu, Sharon Gilleran and her husband Bill, Jan Coubrough, Timothy Hidu and his wife Dale, Lisa Uvino, Robert McDonald and Wendy McDonald; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his siblings, David Hidu and Susan LeBlond; his paternal grandparents, John Amos and Fannie Blanche McDonald; and maternal grandparents, Willard A. and Lillian A. McDowell.

Friends and family may call from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017 with a Memorial Service at 4 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CT Audubon Society, 1 Milford Point Rd., Milford, CT 06460.
