William J. Alexander, 69, of Stamford and Meriden, passed away on November 27, 2017. William was born on January 8, 1948 in Montgomery, AL to the late Ruben and Claudia Ligon Alexander. William leaves behind his sisters, René and Angela Alexander; nephews, Tyrone and Jerome Alexander, Andre and Jevon Roberts and Marcus Lovelace; as well as several grandnieces and grandnephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Claudette Roberts.

After graduating from Stamford High School, William joined the army during the Vietnam War. He was Honorably Discharged, receiving a Purple Heart for his service.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Bread of Life Ministries, 11 Hazel St., Stamford, CT. Burial will follow at Woodland Cemetery, 66 Woodland Pl., Stamford, CT. The family is being compassionately cared for by the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.
