William Henry Grant, Jr., 88, of Milford, beloved husband of Esther Swiderski Grant, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. Born on May 12, 1929, in Portage Lake, ME, he was son of the late Evelyn Taylor and William H. Grant, Sr.   

William was the former owner of the Redwood Inn in Shelton, CT and of the Malarchie Pub in Ansonia, CT. He was a former member of the Elks and loved fishing. William was also a die-hard fan of the Boston Red Sox and a former President of the Valley Umpire Association. He will be missed by many.  

In addition to his beloved wife, William is survived by his children, Ronald (Irene) Grant, David (Gail) Grant, Maryellen Marsili, and Kyle (Donald) Simpson; stepchildren, Karen Eichner, Chad Rose, Nancy Rose, and Judy (Ken Dotson) Rose; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his step-son-in-law, Walter Eichner. 

Friends and family may call from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 9, 2017 at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT, 06460. Interment will be private.
