Anna Stashenko

Anna C. Stashenko, a long time Milford resident, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at Milford Hospital. She was 96 years old and a resident of Milford Health Care. Born and raised in Stamford, CT., settling in Greenwich, CT after her marriage to Nicholas Stashenko, she was one of nine children. She was predeceased by her parents, Andrew and Anastasia Chowka, several sisters, brothers, her husband Nicholas and daughter, Susan Majoris(husband Louis) of Milford. Anna is survived by a daughter, Carol Carpenter of Massachusetts, five grandchildren, Brian Carpenter (wife Jody) of MA, Jennifer Lepore(husband Tony) of MA, Michelle Schumacher, Jeffrey Majoris, Michael Majoris of Milford, fifteen loving great grand-children and several nieces and nephews.

Anna was a very energetic, spunky and witty woman who loved being surrounded by family and friends.  She was generous, hospitable and a great homemaker. Her hobbies included sewing, knitting, gardening and reading at the Milford beaches.  She attended Stamford schools and during World War II worked at a manufacturing company that supported the war effort. After her children grew up, she worked at Jonathan Law High School cafeteria serving lunches to the students.

The family wishes to thank Milford Hospital and Milford Healthcare for the excellent care given to Anna.

Friends and family may gather from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018 at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. There will be a private interment for the family in Stamford. In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna Stashenko’s name may be made to the Disabled American Veterans Charity, 3725 Alexandria Pike, Cold Spring, KY 41076, The Milford Hospital Foundation, 300 Seaside Avenue, Milford, 06460 or the charity of your choice.
