Anthony Cappeloni

Anthony “Tony” Cappeloni, 91, of West Haven, passed away on July 22, 2019. He was born on June 8, 1928.

Tony was a proud 20-year veteran of the US Air Force, retiring from service in 1968. He subsequently worked for the West Haven Board of Education as a custodian and then as a supervisor. The last 20 years of Tony’s employment were as a “maintenance man” at Oak Lane Country Club and later at Woodbridge Country Club. He was in charge of everything related to the care of the tennis facility, of which he took great pride in. At Oak Lane, he was beloved by all tennis members. The head pro at Oak Lane, Kimm Fisher, became one of Tony’s closest friends and over the last several years, Mr. Fisher was always ready and able to give Tony a hand when needed. Tony was a fan of all sports; he rooted for the Red Sox and the NY Jets, but he absolutely loved the UCONN Lady Huskies basketball team and followed them with intensity.
