Barbara Lillian (Grasso) Settino

Barbara Lillian Grasso Settino of Milford, CT passed away peacefully on January 1, 2019 with her loving family by her side.  Barbara was one of seven children born to Leonard and Jennie Scinto Grasso.  She is survived by her sister Jane Caro.  She was predeceased by twin sisters, Philomena and Lucia, brothers, Louis Grasso and Leonard Grasso and her younger sister, Marie Grasso. 

Barbara’s four children and their spouses are left to cherish her memory.  Pasquale (Ricc), Susan, Rocky (Karen), and Joseph (Karen).  Barbara also leaves five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Barbara enjoyed working at many different jobs over the years.  One of her earliest jobs was working at GE during WWII, supporting our boys overseas.  She also worked as a hairdresser and it was not uncommon to see her sisters, sisters-in-law, and even her mother as blondes in January, brunettes in May, and red heads in September.  Her last job was at the eyewear manufacturer, L’Amy, from which she eventually retired.         

Life was a great adventure for Barbara and she never passed on an opportunity to try something new. She traveled extensively with family and friends.  As she became older, she became an avid reader and movie-goer. Friends and family often stopped by to bring a new book or to just sit and chat.   

Barbara will be sorely missed by all who knew her. A Mass to celebrate her life will take place on Saturday, January 5, at 10:30 am at St. Mary Church in Milford, CT.
