First let me extend my deepest sympathies to all of Betsy's family and dear friends and co-workers(volunteers). I had the pleasure of working with Betsy at the Yale Medical School, Dept of Internal Medicine back in the 60's and early 70's. She was a great lady, so smart and caring of others. I have many memories of the good times shared by a group of us, going out to lunches, etc. which continued throughout the years. We would get together and have lunch somewhere and talk of all the (sometimes crazy)things we did at Yale. She helped my Mom with my wedding too. Those were great times and I will remember her with love and friendship. Prayers and peace to you always Bets.

Betsy was Mom's sister - and we loved her so much! She disliked the "aunt" label, so we called her Great Betsy. She certainly lived up to that name! She was always there for us, and gave freely of her time, advice, a shoulder to lean one, etc.
I have 2 favorite memories to share. When I was a freshman in college and parents weekend rolled around, she came down to see me. (My twin sister was in school also- same weekend for parents visit - and Mom went to her school). I was so homesick and having Betsy visit was just what I needed. We had so much fun!
The second memory is with my husband Jeff, and Betsy- visiting NYC. We took the train down from Ct, and she wore us out walking everywhere seeing all the sites! We had a great day with her as our guide.
She was a great inspiration, and someone to model our lives as women.

Betsy Winters and I had only been friends for 30 years, so I was a relative newcomer to her family. I was amazed at how she accepted the frailties of people in the most generous and compassionate way, at the same time being a ferocious adversary of all things cruel and unjust. We shared an abiding love of our feline companions, and am happy that I introduced her to her cat, Alice. She was interested in everything - art, theater, music, literature, nature, people; Betsy's was an inspiration of a life well-lived. Her friends and family were everything to her, and you simply will never find a better friend. We wore her friendship as a badge of honor. Betsy was loved deeply and will be missed fiercely.

Betsy's passing leaves a great void in many hearts. She was my very good friend for over 35 years, and was always there for me. She was an intelligent, kind and caring woman and I loved her dearly. We had so many fun trips with other friends, Joanne and Paula, and made so many wonderful memories together. Betsy was one of a kind and I'm so glad she touched my life - I will miss her. God Bless her and my condolences to her family.
