Brian R. Zikaras

Brian Richard Zikaras, 63, of Milford, beloved husband of Charlene Vogler Zikaras and loving father to Kurt Zikaras and his fiancée, Samantha Gigante, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on September 20, 2018. Brian was born on June 26, 1955 in Bridgeport, CT to Frances Zikaras and the late John J. Zikaras.

Brian graduated Central High School in Bridgeport, class of 1973. He began his tool making career at his father’s shop, Nelson and Eckert, in Bridgeport. He worked in several tool shops over his lifetime and finished his working career at Home Depot in Derby as a Deliveries Coordinator for 13 years. Brian greeted all with a smile and entertained them as they came and went. He was a wealth of knowledge in many areas, spanning many topics. He loved family vacations spent in Aruba, relaxing on the beach. Brian also enjoyed gardening and was a wonderful cook. He dearly loved his son and his family and was happiest when surrounded by those whom he loved.

In addition to his wife and son, Brian leaves behind his siblings, John “Jay” and Denise Zikaras, Dr. Robert and Marie Zikaras, Nancy and Randy Tapp, Marianne Wainwright, and Mark Zikaras; sister-in-law, Gina Vogler-Berk and husband Scott Berk; many nieces and nephews; his beloved black lab, Halo and grandpup, Otis. Along with his father, Brian was predeceased by his parents-in-law, Doris and Charles Vogler; brother-in-law, Karl Vogler; and niece, Janice Zikaras.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. Gabriel Church, 26 Broadway, Milford, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will be private. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, October 1, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.
