Burton Edward Smith, Jr.

Burton Edward Smith, Jr., passed away on April 15, 2022, son of the late Burton Smith, Sr. and Martha (Wydra) Smith. He was born on June 06, 1937 in Milford, CT.

He is survived by his wife, Elvira; their children, Burton, Brian (Camelia), and Sheryl; his sisters, Roberta and Sharon; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Robert, Donald, and his sister, Joann.

A lifelong Milford resident, Burton graduated from Milford High School and went on to join the U.S. Army, serving in Germany. He retired from Sikorsky Aircraft after 40 years of employment. He also served in the CT National Guard, retiring as a sergeant after 20 years of service. Burt enjoyed spending time with family and friends, camping, fishing, hunting, scuba diving, attending NASCAR races, as well as with his beloved dogs, Chilli and Toby.

Friends and family may call on April 22, 2022 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to the Halfway Home Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 712, North Haven, CT 06473.
