Carolyn M. Ryan

Carolyn Nelson Ryan, 97, a longtime resident of Milford and beloved wife to the late James J. Ryan, entered into eternal rest on June 9, 2022. Born on December 25, 1924 in Kensington, CT, she was the daughter of the later Algot and Mary Nelson.

Carolyn graduated Milford High School with the class of 1942. She worked many years in banking and later in life at a book bindery. She was an avid reader and a kind giving spirit who will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and sister.

Besides her husband, Carolyn was predeceased by an infant son, Kevin Richard Ryan; her three sisters, Betty Chernock, Barbara Pantagese and Lois Hammond; and her son-in-law, James M. Maher. She is survived by her four children, Kathy (Dominik Della Rocca) Maher, Linda (Ed) Cronin, Mary Ellen (Bob) Madoule, and James N. (Valerie) Ryan; her eight grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses and staff of Milford Health and Rehab for the compassionate care given to Carolyn. Many, many thanks.

All services were private and interment was in Saint Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave., Milford, CT.
