Daniel F. Doheny

October 26, 1967 ~ July 18, 2020 (age 52) 52 Years Old

Tribute

Daniel “Danny” Foley Doheny, 52, of Milford, beloved husband of Dina Doheny, lost his battle with cancer on July 18, 2020. He was born on October 26, 1967 in New Haven. He was the son of the late Maureen and James Doheny, Jr.

Danny is survived by his devoted wife Dina, his most cherished daughter, Rylee Doheny, his mother, Jude Doheny, and Dina’s father Robert Murray.

Danny is one of eleven children. His siblings: James “Jimmy” (Carol) Doheny, III, Kevin (Pat) Doheny, Peter (Marla) Doheny, Michael Doheny, Margie (Mike) Sansone, Monica (Bob) Csejka, and Christian (Amanda) Doheny. Danny was predeceased by siblings, Mary Flynn, Matthew, and Dennis.  Danny also leaves behind 17 nieces and nephews, all of whom held their own special place in his heart: James IV (Jamie), Maureen, Siobhan, Kelsy, Erin, Arnie, Allie, Eli, Daniel, Bridget, Peter, Jr., Mia, Cole, Jason, Kennedy, Svea, and Torin; a sister-in-law, Kathy Markle Doheny; along with so many caring extended family members and friends.

Danny was a wonderful, caring husband and father. Dina and Rylee were the center of Danny’s universe. Rylee describes Danny as the toughest fighter, funniest person, and most supportive father. The three of them were truly inseparable, riding on life’s roller coaster together—they visited Disney so many times, they had their own parking space.

Danny was also a very skilled (but sometimes angry) golfer. His many trips to Myrtle Beach, Ocean City, Florida, and Albuquerque made for some of his, and our, fondest memories. His drives were impressive but his fits on the golf course were epic.

Danny worked for SNET, even after they became Frontier. All told, he spent over 23 years there, most recently working outdoors with a Line Crew. He had many great stories and great friends from that experience.

Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on July 23, 2020 at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. Social distancing and masks will be required.
