David “Dave” Robert Cox, 65, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2019 surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was the son of the late Alfred and Mary Cox.
Dave leaves behind his beloved wife of 24 years, Tina Latulippe Cox. He was a loving father to Hillary (Joe) Defeo and Gary and Kevin Cox. Stepfather to Stephanie (Tom) Ferraro and Jimmy (Ashley Auddino) Cullen. Proud Pop Pop to Brayden Defeo, Stella and Cole Ferraro. He is also survived by his brother Thomas Cox and many nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, co-workers and close friends.
Dave grew up in Ansonia, CT. He graduated from Ansonia High School in 1972 where he played football. He worked in the banking/mortgage field for over 40 years. He enjoyed watching football and the UConn Huskies with his family, playing golf, cooking on the grill “low and slow”, his “man’s drink” 7 and 7, the Beatles and following his high school football team the Ansonia Chargers.
Dave fought with admirable strength while maintaining his signature positive spirit. He will be forever missed by his family and so many others, as he left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Dave’s family would like to thank the CT Hospice for their compassionate care. The family also wishes to express a heartfelt thanks to the countless family and friends who supported Dave throughout his illness. Sincere gratitude to Al Dubien for all of his selfless support.
A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, November 30, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. at CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460. Interment will be private. Friends and family may call from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at the funeral home.
