David John Richards

RICHARDS, DAVID J., 68, of West Haven, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2020 with his daughter at his side.  David was born on May 8, 1952 in Bridgeport, CT, son of the late Ronald Richards and Edna (Casey) Richards.  

David had been employed by YRC Worldwide, Inc. as a Truck Driver prior to retiring in 2017.  David was a member of the City Point Yacht Club.  David’s children were his pride and joy.  He enjoyed spending time on his boat and at his property in Newport, New Hampshire.  David was an interesting character, a friend to many, someone who was taken way too soon, and a person who we will truly miss.

David is survived by his children, Melanie Miro and David Richards Jr.; grandson, Aiden Giardiello; siblings, Shirley Parker, Gordon Richards, Darlene Mashia, Marlene Pighinni; former spouse, Lori (Richards) Hammill; and several nieces and nephews.  He was also predeceased by his siblings, Ronald Richards, Donald Richards, Barbara “Bobbi” Morgan, and Thomas “Tommy” Richards.

Family and friends may gather from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Due to gathering size restrictions, only 25 people are allowed inside at a time. Masks are required. Interment will follow at Kings Highway Cemetery, 271 Cherry St., Milford.
