Dolores Ruffo Manente Brauer, 84, of Milford, passed away suddenly from a brief illness on July 29, 2018. She was born on May 1, 1934 in Bridgeport, CT to the late Samuel and Anna Ruffo.
In her earlier years, Dolores was a pitcher for the Raybestos Brakettes Softball Team in Stratford. While she was raising her children, she played for the Housewives Softball League in Milford. One of Dolores’ greatest passions was dancing and she danced throughout her life right up to when she fell ill. She also greatly enjoyed the daily crossword puzzles and spending time with her family.
Dolores leaves behind her children, Michele (Bob) Greenwood and Michael Manente; grandchildren, Robert and David Greenwood and Michael A. L. Manente; great grandchildren, Lillian Greenwood and Gabriel Greenwood; sisters, Trene Ruffo and Sandy D’Amato; a nephew and two nieces; and her dear friend Bill. She was predeceased by her son, Rick Manente.
Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 9 to 10:45 a.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford, CT. Interment will follow at St. Michael Cemetery, 2205 Stratford Ave., Stratford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
