Donna Stabile

Donna M. Stabile, 65 of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2020 in Port Charlotte, FL.

Donna was born on May 20, 1955 in Milford, CT to the late Cecila Walkowsky and the late Walter Walkowsky of Stratford. She was predeceased by her husband Frank Stabile of Port Charlotte and predeceased by her brother Ronald Walkowsky (husband of Louise) of Milford. Donna is survived by her former spouse Bruce Rutkowski of Milford, their children Robert Rutkowski (wife Rebecca) of Wallingford, James Rutkowski (wife Rhonda) of Milford and Jaclyn Yudichak (husband Bob) of Middlebury, her grandchildren Bruce (wife Amanda), Russell, Luke, Beau, Aurora, Wyatt and Abigail, great grandson Colton and her many adored nieces and nephews.

Donna worked as a head administrative assistant for many years in Connecticut. Upon relocating to Florida, she fulfilled her childhood dream to become a nurse. She was a cardiac nurse for Fawcett Memorial Hospital in Port Charlotte, FL. She loved her time as a nurse not only dedicating herself to her patients, but also becoming an active member of the nursing community. She formed and helped lead the Fawcett Memorial Hospital Nurses Union.

Donna had a laugh that could fill a room and was always available to her family and many friends. She loved to travel and fulfilled her greatest wish to visit Italy. She also loved to dance, knit and watch movies. She always set goals for herself and achieved them with her unwavering self determination.

Family and friends may gather on Friday, September 18, 2020 from 4pm to 8pm at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford. A graveside service will be held at 11am on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Saint John Cemetery, 2610 Nichols Ave., Stratford, CT (MEET DIRECTLY AT CEMETERY). In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for donations to be made to act.alz.org in Donna's name.
