My deepest condolences to Doug's family. I was friends with Doug in high school and went to UCONN as well. Doug was a great person, and will be missed. He had a great attitude, that always made others laugh. I am hopeful that his spirit may remain alive through his daughter.

Dear Lindsey,
Words are sometimes so powerful and at times feel so empty....and so during times of grief, it's difficult to truly express the compassion and sympathy of friends and family. There's no doubt you'll have the support but only time will help the grief.
For now, cling to your family, friends, and faith for strength and to help maintain Doug's memories, love, and life.
Our prayers are with you and your family.
Peace & love,
The Martinez Family

Dear Lindsey, it just really breaks my heart to hear of Doug's passing (Dougie as I affectionately wrote him once or twice). You just couldn't help but have an immediate liking in your heart for him, even if you never met him in person. He was so sweet and kind and offered so much help, support and information and shared his experience with this disease in order to help and support others. I remember contacting him via Facebook literally while I was on my way to George's oncologist and he was SO helpful. I just I could have met him (and you) in person. I thank God that he was able to live the joy of being a father to a beautiful little girl with you. He and you and little Harper will be in my prayers and know that I, as a widow of this disease, understand what it's like to lose someone you love. I pray for peace and comfort for you and your precious baby and the entire family for the rest of your lives. God bless all!
