Dr. Jacob S. Loke, 78, of Orange, CT, beloved husband of Dr. Effie Chang, passed away peacefully into the hands of the Lord on January 9, 2019 at 10 p.m. after injuries sustained from a fall. Born on May 19, 1940, in Chongqing, China, he was the son of the late Sui Tek Yeung and Yoke Thong Loke.
Dr. Loke served as faculty at Yale University from 1974-1991. He went on to private practice in pulmonary medicine in New Haven until his retirement in 2011.
In addition to his loving wife of 48 years, Effie, Jacob is survived by his siblings, Moses Loke of CA, Miriam Wang of CA, Elizabeth (Andy) Meyers of CA, Margarett Loke of NYC, and Dorothy (T.K. Lee) Loke of Singapore; and his niece, Deborah Wang of CA. Jacob was predeceased by his brother-in-law, John Wang.
A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 6 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be private.
