Edward David Jennings, 68, of Milford, devoted husband for 47 years of Rosemary Jennings, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on August 25, 2020 after a short illness. Born  in Norwalk, CT he was the son of the late Edward and Beverly Jennings. 

Ed was a graduate of Brien McMahon High School, class of ’69. Ed majored in business and minored in music at the University of New Haven where he graduated in 1974. Ed had a zest for learning and later in life he obtained a Masters of Education at Capella University’s Instructional Design in 2011. Ed had an extensive and diverse career including: disc jockey, free-lance music writer, computer software technologist at Microsoft and DEC Corporations, blog writer, a technology instructor in the computer networking management career track at Branford Hall Career Institute, and most recently he was a department chair at Porter & Chester Institute and a Professor at Housatonic Community College. Other than his family, Ed’s great love was music. He was a music enthusiast, journalist, and historian who enjoyed nothing more than live music and attending concerts. He attended over 500 concerts at venues across the nation. Ed’s faith was also of great importance and he was an active member of St. Agnes Church where he served as a lector and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.

In addition to his beloved wife, Rosemary, Ed is survived by his cherished son, Matthew Jennings; his brother, Wayne Jennings; his siblings-in-law, Marian and Frank Flynn, Florence and Phil Sheridan, James and Joanne Izzo and Pat Izzo; his nieces and nephews, Paul and Ariel Domlyn, Frank and Laurie Flynn, Philip Sheridan, Lucy and Griffin Suter, Frank Izzo and Christian Izzo; his great nieces and nephews, Claudia Domlyn, Caroline, Luke, Ethan, and Blake Suter. Ed was predeceased by his brother-in-law, Frank Izzo. 

Ed will be missed for his open heart and peaceful spirit. Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org . The family is being compassionately cared for by the staff at Cody-White Funeral Home 107 Broad Street, Milford, CT 06460.
