Elaine O. MacQuarrie

Elaine O. MacQuarrie, 94, of Shelton, beloved wife of the late Douglass MacQuarrie, passed away peacefully on Wednesday June 6, 2018.  Born on February 21, 1924 in Bridgeport, she was the daughter of the late Herbert E. and Rose Osberg.   

Elaine graduated from Bassick High School in 1943. Later in life, Elaine became a member of the Republican Women’s Club and worked at Reads Department store and Michael’s Jewelers. The thing Elaine enjoyed most was spending time with her grandchildren. Over the past 3 years, Elaine enjoyed working in the library at Crosby Commons because she was an avid reader.    

Elaine is survived by her daughters, Laura MacQuarrie and Leslie MacQuarrie DeLash; grandchildren, Douglas (Lily), Todd, and Courtney Jaser (Andrew Robertson) and Mark DeLash and son-in-law Francis DeLash; and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her siblings, Shirley Hultgren, Herbert N. Osberg, and Rosemarie Knapp.

The family would like to thank all those who assisted with Elaine’s care and their kindness over the past few years.
