Eleanor Beatrice Carra, 96, of Milford, beloved wife of 73 years to the late Pasquale Carra Sr, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on February 2, 2021. Born on December 22, 1924 in Bryn Mawr, PA, she was the daughter of the late Archibald and Gertrude Dean.
Eleanor was retired from the Bic Pen Corporation. She enjoyed her retirement years cooking and baking for her family, she was famous for her lasagna and holiday dinners. Eleanor's home was always filled with love and laughter, and she took great pride in her meticulous house keeping. Being a wife, mother, and grandmother were her greatest joys in life. You could always find her in the afternoon with a nice cup of tea watching her soap operas with her beloved Golden Retriever Ginger. She loved sitting in her back yard enjoying time with her husband. She was a longtime parishioner of Saint Ann's Church and a devout Catholic.
Eleanor is survived by her devoted and loving daughter, Rose DiBlase and her husband Frank; her granddaughter, Janelle Murray and her husband Dana. She was predeceased by her son, Pasquale "Butch" Carra Jr. Eleanor is also survived by her sister, Patricia Filanowski and her husband Samuel; and her brother, Frank Dean and his wife Natividad; brother in law, Joseph Carra and his wife Lois of Dunmore, PA; many nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. Eleanor was proud to be the oldest of sixteen children and was predeceased by her thirteen younger siblings.
A walk through wake will be held on Monday, February 8, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Due to gathering size restrictions, only 25 people are allowed inside at a time and masks are required. Burial will be private. A Funeral Mass will take place at a later date.
