Eleanor Mullaney, 81, of Milford, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2019. She was born on August 13, 1938 in Manhattan, NY to the late Joseph and Josephine Stekel.
Eleanor retired after 30 years of dedicated service from Metro-North Railroad as a much admired and loved employee. Ellie was the happiest when surrounded by her family. She was the “best grandmother” and greatly enjoyed Sunday dinner gatherings. Ellie was a volunteer in many capacities at St. Mary School, where she was lovingly known as “Grandma Ellie” by all the students. She was also involved in Bingo at St. Mary Church. Ellie enjoyed watching Westerns with her granddaughter, Kate, knitting and traveling with her best friend of many years, Joan. She loved her Doxie, Dee, who gave her so much joy. Ellie was selfless, caring and put everyone, especially family, above herself.
Eleanor leaves behind her sons, Jeffrey Mullaney and his wife Nancy and Kenneth Mullaney and his wife Dianna; granddaughters, Shannon, Keli and Megan Mullaney and Katherine A. Mullaney; and brother, Robert Stekel.
