Emily Dorothy Capozzi

Emily D'Amico Capozzi, age 97, of Margate, FL and Milford, CT, passed away on Friday, August 31, 2018.  She lived as a summer resident in Milford since 1932 and became a permanent resident in 1942. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Shelley of Durham, CT and Robert and Patricia of Fairfax, VA; grandchildren, Michael and his wife Heather of Falls Church, VA, Claire of Glendale, NY and Craig of Denver, CO. Emily very much enjoyed her grandson Michael and her great granddaughters Lauren, Caroline, and Julie. She was predeceased by her husband Patrick, her brother, Felix D’Amico; sisters, Betty Martin and Helen Bull; her son, Raymond; and her grandson, David.  

After a very successful career of 28 years, Emily retired from the Superior Court Clerk's position in New Haven. She had similar positions in the Stamford and Milford judicial systems. During her life, Emily was a Justice of the Peace, on the Board of the West Shore Recreation Department, president of the Young Women's Republican Club, a town meeting representative, First Vice-President of the Visiting Nurse's Association, and a real estate broker. She enjoyed skiing, golfing, dancing, playing bridge, and traveling.

Friends and family are invited to call on Thursday, September 6, 2018 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. with a service commencing at 11:30 a.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Burial will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution in Emily’s memory to an organization of your choice.
