Francis Joseph D’Amico, Jr., 94, of Milford, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2018. Born on February 2, 1924 in Willimantic, CT, he was the son of the late Francis J. and Helen F. Guckert D’Amico, Sr.
Francis honorably served his country in the United States Navy. He served in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, prior to his retirement from the military. He was also a proud member of the NRA. He was a lovable grump and his catchphrase, “I’m miserable” always meant that he was having a great day and that he was happy to see you. He will be greatly missed.
Francis is survived by his brother, John A. (Leona L.) D’Amico; nieces and nephews, Catherine (Chris) Daniels, Nancy (Robert) Dapp, James (Debra) Phillips, Helen Peterson, Claude D’Amico, Jr., Francis (Chris) D’Amico, Mary (Chaz) Fareira, Nancy Brown, Holly Flyte, John (Mary) D’Amico, Jr., and Pattie (Mark) Deer; great nieces and great nephews that he was particularly close with, Anthony and Samantha D’Amico, Travis, Ethan and Spencer Deer and Keegan Murray; as well as many more great nieces and nephews, extended family and dear friends. Francis was predeceased by his siblings; Helen (Alfred) Phillips, Annette O. D’Amico, Claude (Cheryl) D’Amico, and Barbara D’Amico.
A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave., Milford (MEET DIRECTLY AT CEMETERY). Friends and family may call on Monday, June 4, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.
