George Bevilacqua

George A. Bevilacqua Sr. 86, of Milford, beloved husband for 62 years to Margaretta (Jeffries) Bevilacqua, passed away peacefully at home on August 3, 2022.  Born December 10, 1935 in Milford, CT he was the son of the late Anthony and Gertrude (Burgess) Bevilacqua.

George was a proud Army veteran, and employee of Remington Products in Bridgeport for over 43 years.  He was a lifelong sports enthusiast, playing for many years in local softball and football leagues, as well as being an avid tennis player.  He also loved working around the house and vacationing with his family.

In addition to his wife Margaretta, George is survived by his sons George A. Bevilacqua, Jr and his wife Mari-Beth of Orange, J. Andrew Bevilacqua and his wife Heather of Milford, and Anthony T. Bevilacqua and his wife Ana Paula Gomes of Cheshire; grandchildren, Jennifer (Bevilacqua) Giegengack, Jeffrey Bevilacqua, Jillian Bevilacqua, Joseph Bevilacqua, Julia Bevilacqua and Christopher Stabile; and great grandchildren, Thomas Bevilacqua, Preston Giegengack, Jonah Giegengack, Caroline Bevilacqua, Seraphina Jimenez; and several nieces.  George was predeceased by his sister, Louise (Bevilacqua) Nichols, and brother, Kenneth Bevilacqua.

Services will be private at the family’s request.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer Association, Arthritis Foundation, American Cancer Society, and Connecticut Hospice.
