George A. Leiby

George A. Leiby, 86, (August 25, 1934 - August 29, 2020) of Milford, CT, passed away of natural causes and is survived by his beloved wife Gail L. Leiby and children Denice (Leiby) Simone, Dawn (Leiby) Quinn (James Quinn III), and Jeffery Leiby (Christine Leiby). He is also survived by brother-in-law, Harry Lindberg (Mariellen Lindberg), and grandchildren Anthony Simone, Caroline Quinn, Ryan Leiby, Samantha Leiby and great-grandchild, Ava Simone. 

George lived his life to the fullest and cherished spending time with his family and friends simply talking, sharing a meal, or playing cards. He enjoyed hunting in Vermont and all sports throughout his life, whether playing football when he was younger, coaching baseball, playing golf, or watching the UCONN Huskies. George was a compassionate person, always expressing kindness to all, lighting up every room, and lifting everyone’s spirits.

George graduated from Bassick High School in Bridgeport, CT, and served in the 101st Airborne in the US Army as a Paratrooper and Sharpshooter. Prior to retiring, George worked in the tire and metal business and at Port 5, National Association of Naval Veterans.

George will be deeply missed by his family and friends, but his spirit will live forever in our hearts. At this time, there will be no services.
