On Monday September 16, 2019, Graham Lair Willoughby, loving husband, father to three children, and grandfather to seven grandchildren, passed away peacefully after a short illness at the age of 77.
Graham was born on June 12, 1942 in Edgartown, Ma to parents Irving and Dorothy Willoughby. He obtained his engineering degree from Boston University, and began working at Grumman Aerospace, on Long Island where he met his future wife Maureen. They were married on November 4, 1972. Shortly thereafter, he began a career at Sikorsky Aircraft that lasted 39 years, designing landing gears on such iconic helicopters as the Blackhawk.He had a passion for gardening, was an avid collector and lover of 50’s music, he loved anything related to American history, and got to see his beloved Red Sox win not just one, but four World Series.
He is survived by his wife Maureen; his three children Rachel (Steve), Becky (Nate), and Graham (Jolynn); and his seven grandchildren; Dylan, Kyla, Carter, Parker, Connor, Morgan, and Luke.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Thursday September 19, 2019 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME 107 N. Broad Street Milford, CT 06460. A Funeral Service will be held Friday September 20, 2019 11:00 AM Cody-White Funeral Home 107 N. Broad Street Milford, CT 06460. Interment will be private.
