Helen M. Conley, 79, of Milford, entered into the arms of our Lord on November 19, 2018. Helen was born on November 7, 1939 in New Haven, CT to the late Samuel and Mae Bassett.
Helen worked as a Registered Nurse for over 40 years at both Norwalk Hospital and Milford Hospital, and she spent some time as a traveling nurse. Helen was the kind of person who would take any challenge head on. She was the heart of her family. She was often the go to advice giver, plan maker, and go getter. She was a free spirit who was a “pirate at heart” and felt most at home when she was sailing and living on the water. Helen had a sense of humor that was unmatched. She could find the bright side of the darkest situation, and she had a knack for picking out peculiar cars. Helen was a loving, caring and devoted mom, grandmother and great grandmother who took pride in her beautiful family. This incredible, vivacious, smart, and driven woman will be greatly missed. However, her spirit will live on in every life she touched.
Helen leaves behind her loving children, Michael Conley, Maura (Jason) Smith, Kim (David) Sokolski, Kevin (Denise) Conley and Susan (John Thomas) Conley; her beloved grandchildren, Todd (Sarah), Casey, Joseph and Jake; her cherished great grandchildren, Colton, Lauretta and Travis; her brother, Franklyn (Carolyn) Bassett; and other family members. She was predeceased by her longtime companion, Robert Fountain.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. with a Funeral Service at 6:30 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT.
