Hugh Masterson (Benny), age 57, of West Haven, CT, formerly of Firmullagh, Moyne, Co. Longford Ireland, died peacefully Saturday morning, May 28, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on Jan 6, 1965 in Co. Longford Ireland. He was the son of the late Peter & Catherine Masterson. He is predeceased by his sister, Kathleen (28).Hugh is survived by his beloved wife and partner of 31 years, Donna Studdard; his stepchildren, Brian (Nicole), Fred, Cullin, Patrick (Sara); his grandchildren whom he cherished, Logan, Natalie, Julian, Simona; beloved siblings, Michael (Bernadette), Peter (Collette), Emily (Paddy), John Joe (Nora), Ann (Gerard), Patrick (Mary), Diarmuid (Jacqueline); several (16) very special nieces and nephews; and 17 grand nieces and nephews; and aunt, Nan Masterson (95).

Hugh was a highly skilled mason. He was a member of IUBAC and co-owner of Masterco Restoration. His passion and dedication to his work are evident in his legacy of restorations throughout the New Haven area.
Hugh had a competitive spirit. In his younger years, he was active in GAA football as a player & Captain. He enjoyed Rugby & Liverpool FC. He would never pass up a good New England Patriots game. Hugh was an avid golfer, willing to play at any time, through all seasons. He celebrated his first “hole-in-one” in 2017.
A man of integrity & charisma with an infectious smile, when he wasn’t working or playing golf, you could often find him enjoying a night out with friends & family. Hugh enjoyed casual banter and he had an uncanny ability to see the best in people and find humor in most situations. He was a generous man and a compassionate listener. He was always willing to help in any way. He will be dearly missed by many.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Saint Lawrence Church, Saint John XXIII Parish, 207 Main St., West Haven, CT. Friends and family may call from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Friday, June 3, 2022 at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
