James Angelo Attardo, 72, a lifelong resident of Milford, passed away on May 2, 2018. Born on July 4, 1945 in Milford, he was the son of the late Vincenzo and Congettina Bergio Attardo.
James graduated from Milford High School with the Class of 1963. He received a scholarship and graduated from Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.) in 1967, top of his class. James taught foreign languages including Russian, French and Spanish for 35 years in the Milford Public High Schools. James was kind and caring and had a heart of gold. He will be greatly missed.
James is survived by several beloved nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, extended family members and friends. James was predeceased by his brothers, Louis, Richard, Charles and Joseph Attardo; and his sisters, Lillian Vanacore, Mary Russo, Mildred Reynolds, Daisy Giordano, and Rosemarie Kimball. The family would like to thank Milford Health Care for their care and compassion.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. at Saint Mary Church, 70 Gulf St., Milford (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). Interment will follow at Saint Mary Cemetery, Buckingham Ave., Milford. Friends and family may call on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the CODY-WHITE FUNERAL HOME, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT 06460.
