James J. Marino

August 12, 1943 ~ August 12, 2022 (age 79) 79 Years Old

Tribute

James J. Marino “Jim” died peacefully in his home surrounded by his children, on August 12, 2022 on his 79th birthday. Jim was the son of the late Katherine M. and James “Pop” Marino of Milford CT.

Jim was one of three children, his devoted and loving sister, Lucille Ceresa and the late Anthony “Tony” Marino of Milford. Jim was a mason by trade, he trained under the tutelage of his late Uncle Pip when he was just a teenager. In time Jim would patiently teach his 2 sons his trade and hoped to instill his values and integrity to his children.  Over the years his strong work ethics and commitment to excellence would be his legacy. Jim was married to the late Dorothy L Marino, for 59 years. The couple had 5 children and later, 14 grandchildren. Jim’s love and devotion to his children and later, his grandchildren served him well and endeared him to his family. The birth of Jim’s grandchildren gave him a new role in life. Now older, wiser, and if possible, more patient. He was never too busy for his grandchildren. Teaching them to be honest, kind, and the importance of family. Holidays won’t be the same and trips to the steam train, walks at the State park, the mall, and sleepovers at “Popeyes” won’t be forgotten. His soft spoken voice, warm smile, and his kind, piercing blue eyes will be missed by those who knew him. The family would like to acknowledge Jim’s lifelong friend Ronnie Austin, for his devotion during his illness.

Jim leaves behind 4 of his children, Monica (Frank) Granito, Sandy (Brad) Conlan, James J Marino Jr, ToniAnne (Michael) Weaver; his grandchildren, Ashley, Frank, Nickole, Joe, Jake, Wade, Catherine, Aedan, Gunnar, Elsa, Olivia, Jimmy and Dillon; nieces, Kathryn (Richard) Giordano, Katherine Braccio; and nephew, Sonny Twigg; cousins, Elizebeth Fray and Rita (Ed) Wargo. James is preceded in death by his son, Robert (Bob) Marino of Milford and his granddaughter, Jackson M. Weaver of Mississippi.
