Jean Louis Auclair

Jean Louis Auclair, 91, of Milford, passed away on March 30, 2020 after a brief illness with his loving wife by his side. He was born on August 21, 1928 in Pawticket, RI. He and his late twin sister, Jeanne Aguiar and late older brother, Henry Auclair, were born to Delphis and Blanch Auclair.

Jean served in the U.S. Navy and was self employed as a painter/contractor all his life. When he retired, he still worked his trade with family, friends, and at home. He had a playful, joking side to him; loved talking over a cup of coffee, doing puzzles, reading, watching football and golf, roller skating in his youth, bowling, and action movies. Jean and Joan loved to travel to England, Scotland, Ireland, France, Belgium, Austria, Germany, and Canada. Also, many cruises, Vegas and Disney trips and visiting family in FL and MA. Jean loved going to the casinos with his sister, Jeanne (and they usually always won). He will be sadly missed, but left his beloved wife, Joan, with this memory of him:

“About a month ago, he reached over to hold my hand, looked into my eyes, and said ‘You know I love you’ and I said ‘I know Jean and I love you too’ and I hugged him. That will remain in my heart always.”

Jean is survived by his loving wife, Joan Lally-Auclair of 48 years; his son, John of Maine; his two daughters, Jeanne and Jennifer of CT; his stepchildren, Marlene and Joel, Dawn and Jose, the late John McCready, Robin and Blaine, and Robert and Lisa. He will be sadly missed by his 15 loving grandchildren. He was always Grandpa Jean and his family gave him a surprise birthday party with his favorite ice cream cake last August. He was also blessed with 6 great granddaughter, Brianna, Elysianna, Emma, Alana, Sienna, and Sadie; as well as one great grandson, Joel III.

Private prayers were said by the family on April 1, 2020. A memorial service will be held at a later date due to the current pandemic.
