Jo-Ann Marie Deer, 73, of West Haven and formerly of Milford, beloved wife of the late Stephen R. Deer Jr., passed away peacefully on October 17, 2019. Jo-Ann was born on April 24, 1946, in Bridgeport, CT to the late Michael B. and Marie T. Rosiello.
Jo-Ann loved to cook and bake for her family and friends, as well as make many crafty items. She has sewn, crocheted, cross stitched and painted many items for family and friends. She had a huge heart and was always making something for someone. In her younger years, Jo-Ann was in drum and bugle, she would love to go watch the drum and bugle competitions when she could no longer compete herself. In the 90’s, she missed marching and joined the Milford Volunteers Ancient Fife and Drum Corps where she was an active color guard member for many years. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, she would often take them camping with her (one at a time of course) to Nelsons where she and Steve were seasonal campers for many years.
Jo-Ann leaves behind her three children, Stephen R. Deer III, Michele Deer, Mark Deer and his wife Pattie; three grandsons, Travis Deer, Ethan Deer and Spencer Deer; two brothers, Frank Pataky, Robert Rosiello Sr and his wife Patty; brother-in-law, Lawrence Deer and his wife Carol; and several nieces and nephews. Jo-Ann is predeceased by her granddaughter, Alexis Deer Kuhar.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad St., Milford, CT. Interment will be private.
